We are thrilled to celebrate William Antcliff, who has been recognised by UCL with two of its highest honours – Volunteer of the Year and Honorary Life Member – as he completes an extraordinary period of service with London Nightline.
Honorary Life Membership is the most prestigious recognition granted by UCL Students’ Union, and is reserved for individuals who have made an exceptional contribution to student life. Receiving both awards in the same year is a remarkable achievement, and reflects Will’s profound impact across the Nightline community and beyond.
Over the past four years, Will has dedicated more than 2,000 hours to London Nightline, completing over 130 overnight shifts supporting students during some of their most difficult moments. Alongside his work on shift, he has played a pivotal role in shaping the service: mentoring fellow volunteers, training and supporting over 50 new recruits, and contributing to recruitment, appraisals, and ongoing development. Will’s commitment extends across the organisation: taking on leadership roles within the executive team, representing London Nightline at a national level, and fundraising over £1,000 across three half marathons to support the charity’s work.
As Will reaches the end of his PhD, his legacy at London Nightline is clear. Congratulations, Will: these awards are a fitting recognition of your dedication and the lasting difference you have made to students across London.
