We’re so proud of Syeda, a London Nightline volunteer who was awarded Volunteer of the Year 2025 by Queen Mary Students’ Union. Graduating volunteer Syeda has been an asset to our organisation, from her amazing attitude at training when she first joined, to her dedication to showing up for student mental health, taking countless calls and messages overnight. She’s committed substantial time to supporting her fellow volunteers, going above and beyond to ensure they have a positive experience. As a graduating volunteer, Syeda is coming to the end of her time with us, but she’s had such a huge impact on her community.
“Nightline has helped me grow in ways I didn’texpect. It’s a place where empathy thrives, friendships form, and even thehardest nights can feel lighter when you’re surrounded by people who care.” - Syeda
Queen Mary Students’ Union are a close partner of London Nightline, with their volunteering team supporting us to recruit passionate and driven students twice a year for our volunteer intakes. We know how important volunteering can be,and how much it can shape a student’s time at university, so it’s reallyvaluable to be able to work with an institution who champion this for their students.
We were lucky enough to also win a commendation as a community organisation.
Congratulationsto Syeda!
