A new 7 year city-wide initiative, The Stay Project, has launched to strengthen the resilience, wellbeing, and confidence of frontline staff and volunteers working in suicide prevention across all 32 London boroughs.
Announcing the project on World Suicide Prevention Day, London Nightline joins partners across the charity sector to make a long-term difference to reduce suicides across the city.
Supporting others through crisis can take a significant emotional toll. Many frontline professionals experience burnout, fatigue and isolation, often without sufficient support. The Stay Project provides a long-term, coordinated response, offering resilience workshops, specialist training, and wellbeing support designed specifically for those working on the frontline.
Over the next seven years, the project will deliver:
"We've seen the power of partnerships to drive real change. At CB Plus, we've built a strong track record leading local suicide prevention initiatives and working collaboratively to support the mental health of our communities," said Tola Kolawole, Director of Health and Care, CB Plus.
Funded by City Bridge Foundation, The Stay Project brings together CB Plus, Listening Ear (Amparo), Grassroots Suicide Prevention, New Citizens Gateway, and London Nightline to provide inclusive, culturally informed, and responsive support to London’s diverse communities. The project aims to embed long-term change and healthier working cultures within suicide prevention services across the capital.
Further details of London Nightline’s training and development offer for university staff will be announced later this term, so watch this space.
