Volunteering—put something positive back into the student community, meet a wide variety of students from across London, and impress potential employers.
London Nightline is run by students for students and therefore could not operate without its committed and enthusiastic volunteers. If you're a good listener and think you could be empathetic and non-judgmental to students calling on a wide range of issues, even if it's at 4.00am, perhaps you should consider volunteering.
Volunteers agree to do a minimum of three duties per term, as well as attend on-going training and support meetings. A duty is from 6.00pm to 8.00am and will always be carried out with at least one other volunteer. You will usually get some sleep, and yes we do have beds!
No previous experience is required, all we ask is that you are aged 18 or over and are a student in London. Full training is given. London Nightline is partly run by its volunteers who have the opportunity to get involved in all aspects of the organisation's work e.g. publicity, fund raising, training, organising social events; all of which look good on your CV!
This year’s Introductory Talk will be held on Wednesday 7th October - 6.30pm at ULU.
