Rabbi Lionel Blue
"Life is tougher now for students than in my time with loans in place of grants etc. Therefore there is more stress placed upon students today. Nightline can help."

The Rt Hon Mr David Blunkett
MP for Sheffield Brightside
"London Nightline is an example of how the personal commitment of time can transform the life and well-being of those around us. A preparedness to be a listening ear, to be there at anti-social times, and to care about others. This is why Nightline is so special."

Jo Brand
Comedian
"I'm delighted to associate myself with Nightline, and appear on a page with the great and the good! Nightline is clearly a project that is offering huge reassurance to an increasingly wide diversity of students studying in the city. Surely a testament to the skills and commitment of the Nightline volunteers".

The Lord Flowers
Former Vice-Chancellor of the University of London
"Ever since my Imperial College days I have watched Nightline grow with interest and admiration to become first London-wide and then National. Indeed in London you have been given a leading role in National Nightline. You play an essential role in helping students through their hours of greatest stress, and in universities as at home we are all grateful to you."

The Rt Hon David Lammy
Member of Parliament
David Lammy was elected Member of Parliament for Tottenham at a by-election on 22 June 2000. Following his re-election in 2001, David became the first Tottenham MP to hold a Government position since 1945. He has served as a Minister in the Department of Health, the Department of Constitutional Affairs and is currently the Minister for Culture in the Department for Culture, Media and Sport. David has consistently voiced his strong commitment to the advancement and well-being of young people throughout his parliamentary career, and as a alumnus of a London university himself, is particularly interested in the facilities available to young people locally.

Mr Trevor Phillips
Chair of the Commission for Racial Equality
"Many of us need the reassurance of a listening ear particularly as students when many of us move to new cities and are faced with new challenges. I am delighted to see Nightline grow from strength to strength as it continues to provide an invaluable source of support."

Dame Angela Rumbold
Former Minister of State for Education
"It is good to know that the work of London Nightline is reaching out to so many people and that as a result of the pioneering work done by London Nightline the influence of this helpline is encouraging similar developments across the UK."

Doreen Whewell Hon RCM
Ex-Counsellor from the Royal College of Music
I do not believe there is a typical Nightline volunteer, but it is clear that they want to "be there" for other students when the need arises. ... from the caller's point of view, it packs a huge punch because it says tacitly "I am here because I believe that you and your concerns are valuable and important.""
